I have learned never to assume what people are thinking or what they already know or don’t know; therefore I am addressing these FAQ’s and instructions to simplify the excellent opportunity of online courses.
1. What are online classes?
Online classes are classes that you can do from any of the following devices computer, tablet or smartphone in the comfort of your own home or from wherever you are as long as you have access to Wi-Fi. Video conferencing has been used in the corporate world for years, and I must say is the next best thing to being there, with some extra benefits like saving time on travel and the convenience of being in the comfort of your own home, hotel room or office.
2. What is the difference between a webinar and virtual classroom?
Webinars are learning classrooms where usually the presenter speaks, uses a power point presentation to impart information and sometimes will open up a typing chat room for Q’& A’s. Virtual classrooms use the same platforms as webinars but they are interactive, and the participants have a camera that they have an option to keep on or off.
3. How do online classrooms work?
The virtual courses allow each participant to be seen. When they speak their video image converts from a small image called a thumbnail to the main image on the screen. There is also the ability to type questions and comments in the chat room based on the presenter’s agenda for the course.
4. Demystifying the online course virtual classroom process:
In the toolbar click online courses
Select the course of your choice
Click Register or PayPal
Once you are enrolled, I will have your email and will send you a zoom link the day of each class
You will click on the link at the scheduled time, and it will put you in the virtual classroom.
VERY IMPORTANT YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE ZOOM LINK TO THE DEVICE YOU ARE USING BEFORE YOU ATTEND THE CLASS, OR THE LINK WILL NOT WORK
5. What if I miss a class?
Can’t make a class, no problem. All classes will be recorded, archived and sent to you via email.
6. What about confidentiality and anonymity?
In my line of work, I do take confidentiality and privacy very seriously. In a group environment, it is a slippery slope. I will have everyone sign an agreement that they will not use anyone’s name when sharing anything outside of the course, and usually, in a group where people are on a journey towards growth and development this is a mutually agreed upon understanding.
7. How to participate in the class?
Being that my specialty and focus is on Individualized Personality Blueprinting, there will be people in the groups that are more extroverted or vocal or introverted and less vocal.
I want to assure you that wherever you are, it is perfect! You can always turn off your video if you are camera shy.
My commitment and experience in leading workshops are to create a safe learning environment where people feel comfortable sharing their authentic selves.
8.What if things open up for me in the course and I want to delve deeper into my self-discovery?
You can always email me with your questions, or maybe it’s an excellent opportunity for you to do individual coaching, which is also virtual, but this time it will be just you and me.
I hope this was useful for the baby boomers and non-techies.
Looking forward to the adventurous journey with you!
